Our Glen Raven Herd
Our Glen Raven Nigerian Dwarf Goat Herd, established in 2024, is a heartfelt step toward our hopes for greater self-sufficiency. Our dams and the rented sires are all fully ADGA-registered, which fills us with pride. We’re also very proud of our pristine health record. By creating a clean, nurturing environment, we help our goats stay naturally healthy and resilient to parasites. In fact, our herd has never needed deworming! On October 28, 2025, our herd tested negative for CAE, CL, and Johne’s disease. Because these goats are such a central part of our family, we spend time with them every day, and they truly enjoy our company just as much as we cherish theirs.
Meet Our Lovely, Little Ladies
The heart of our homestead rests with our four exceptional Little Ladies. We brought them home together on May 16, 2024. Our aim was for them to contribute significantly to our self-sustaining goals through their reliable milk production. We prioritize a healthy, low-stress environment for them to flourish. Each night, they bunk together comfortably in a dedicated stall in our barn. During the day, they enjoy being outside, roaming and foraging across a one-acre pasture that they happily share with our chickens. This natural, active lifestyle keeps them in peak health, allowing them to pass on their robust vitality and gentle dispositions to each new generation.

Cali

DoB: February 18, 2024
Named after her stunning calico coat pattern with a beautiful array of colors. She's clever and often a bit mischievous, but holds the wonderful distinction of being the very first herd member to warm up to her new home. You can always count on her to be near the hub of activity, adding a lively spark to our days!

Meg

DoB: February 27, 2024
Meg: A gracious nutmeg-colored doe, named after her rich and warm fur tone. While she tends to be quieter and more reserved compared to her herd mates, her friendly and gentle personality quickly becomes apparent when you spend some time with her.

Dottie

DoB: February 25, 2024
Our adorable "painted" lady, proudly displaying her distinctive large black-and-white splotches. She truly is the sweetheart of the herd, known for her affectionate nature. She happily follows us around the pasture just to stay close, always eager to be near.

Ginger
ADGA #: PD2391139
DoB: March 1, 2024
And then there's our spirited young lady, named for her vibrant reddish-blond coloring. Although she was the youngest and smallest when we first brought her home, Ginger has blossomed immensely. She's found her voice and has become one of our most vocal 'ladies,' always letting us know exactly what she wants!
The Visiting Gentlemen
The Bleating Acres Benjamin
ADGA #: PD2407998
To support the long-term goals of our homestead, we thoughtfully select outside genetics to complement our family-raised does. The sire we rented for the 2025 breeding season visited for six weeks, allowing plenty of time to get to know our little ladies. He was chosen because of his strong pedigree, sturdy conformation, and a proven record of producing lively kids. By pairing his excellent traits with our beloved dams, we ensure this season’s kids inherit a perfect blend of good health, great dairy qualities, and strong genetics — all vital to becoming productive members of our homestead family.
